Where Does Nebraska Get Its Money?

I don’t know about anyone else, but I am rather shocked to discover that Nebraska receives so very much of its budget from the Federal government. Silly, silly me. So much for state sovereignty…Seems rather curious that our Governor has been complaining about the acceptance of federal funds recently… Continue reading

Federal Funding Tap Dance: Are States Puppets Or Partners?

When considering how to get out of the way of the growing red ink tsunami gushing out of D.C., one of the first questions that comes to mind is what states can do about it. Many federal programs could be rejected by states, but they aren’t. Obviously, they want the money. Prior governors and legislators have opted to accept federal funds in an effort to tout how much they accomplish while in office, handing the strings and increased obligations to the next set of officials. Continue reading

Federal Red Ink Tsunami: The Life Boats Are Within Our Reach

The gulf coast oil spill was and is a horrible disaster with consequences that will last for years to come. But when one looks at the “big picture”, the oil spill is dwarfed by the tsunami of red ink that promises to suck everyone into its wake. The life boats are well within our reach – they are located right within in our own states. Continue reading

What Lawyers & Judges Won’t Tell You About Juries

In 1670, the right of jurors to judge both the law and the facts became part of British constitutional law. It ultimately became part of American constitutional law as well, but you’d never know it listening to jury instructions today almost anywhere in the country. With only a few exceptions, juries are explicitly or implicitly told to worry only about the facts and let the judge decide the law. The right of jury nullification has become one of the legal system’s best kept secrets. Continue reading

Missouri Voters Send President Obama A Happy Birthday Message

President Obama awoke Wednesday morning to a birthday gift he assuredly didn’t find pleasing. In Tuesday’s Missiouri primary 71% of voters approved a measure that exempts its citizens from the Federal mandate to purchase health insurance. Continue reading

Nullification – the Freedom Meme

The Anglo-American power elite provides the Western world with dominant social themes. In the past, certainly in the 20th century, these themes worked wonderfully well. But today, many of these memes are under attack. When the elite muscles them forwar… Continue reading

Gag me with a spoon – UN gives advice to AZ now

We have asked nicely that you respect our borders and our laws. What part of rule of law, protecting our borders, ethical standards, not stealing from others, not taking advantage of others, protecting our sovereignty, moral values, and common courtesy do illegal aliens not understand.

We stand with Arizona in putting their foot down and doing what the federal government has failed to do since 911. The first thing that must happen is to secure our borders. The second thing that must happen is to remove economic incentives for industries to hire illegal aliens. The third thing that must happen is to forcibly remove anyone caught violating our immigration laws. No sanctuary cities, no free medical, no checks in the mail to mailboxes just across the border. Continue reading
