Nebraska Appleseed Not Happy: Judge Refuses Injunction

Nebraska Appleseed is a Lincoln-based entity that seems to be on the wrong side of just about every issue limited government types are concerned about.  If it costs money, grows government, facilitates the welfare state, promotes a “green” agenda, and potentially raises taxes, odds are high…Nebraska Appleseed would be for it. GiN’s “Deserving of Darts” […] Continue reading

Grassroots in Nebraska Shelli Dawdy says, “Really it boils down to one simple solution – living the Constitution as originally intended. That means restoring the rightful relationship between the federal government and the several states. When we exa… Continue reading

Federal Red Ink Tsunami: The Life Boats Are Within Our Reach

The gulf coast oil spill was and is a horrible disaster with consequences that will last for years to come. But when one looks at the “big picture”, the oil spill is dwarfed by the tsunami of red ink that promises to suck everyone into its wake. The life boats are well within our reach – they are located right within in our own states. Continue reading

Charity By Any Other Name Does Not Smell as Sweet

Local churches are misguided in seeking government solutions. While, as Christians, we are called to care for the needy, Jesus did not teach people to give their money to the government. People are not being charitable if they are not giving from their heart, and government welfare programs take money from one citizen and give it to another. Continue reading

Charity…Entitlements…Do Names Matter?

What’s in a name? As famously dramatized by Shakespeare… JULIET: ‘Tis but thy name that is my enemy; Thou art thyself, though not a Montague. What’s Montague? it is nor hand, nor foot, Nor arm, nor face, nor any other part Belonging to a man. O, be some other name! What’s in a name? that […] Continue reading

Bread and Circuses Are Fun – While They Last

The phrase “bread and circuses” originated in ancient Rome and a chilling description of the current state of our nation. It’s patently clear, when you look at our burgeoning national debt, that the plebs know, of a certainty, that they can vote themselves bread and circuses without limit and that the productive members of the American body politic cannot stop them. FIRE Coalition features OK Rep. Charles Key on June 4th

On Friday, June 4, 2010, the FIRE Coalition, working with our partners at the Patriot Coalition and November Patriots, will hold our first National Security Conference of 2010 in the old Kansas Supreme Court Chambers in the Kansas State Capitol Building, in Topeka, Kansas. Whether it is amnesty for illegal aliens, the nearly 10% unemployment rate, or the rising instances of drug cartel and gang crime along our southern border, our elected officials at the federal, state, and local levels need to work together for the American People. On Saturday, June 19th, we will hold our second national security conference of 2010 in Hamilton, Ohio. Continue reading

Gag me with a spoon – UN gives advice to AZ now

We have asked nicely that you respect our borders and our laws. What part of rule of law, protecting our borders, ethical standards, not stealing from others, not taking advantage of others, protecting our sovereignty, moral values, and common courtesy do illegal aliens not understand.

We stand with Arizona in putting their foot down and doing what the federal government has failed to do since 911. The first thing that must happen is to secure our borders. The second thing that must happen is to remove economic incentives for industries to hire illegal aliens. The third thing that must happen is to forcibly remove anyone caught violating our immigration laws. No sanctuary cities, no free medical, no checks in the mail to mailboxes just across the border. Continue reading
