Government Schools Produce Ignorance As Revealed By Jaywalking July 4

Recently, we’ve run a series of posts responding to a misleading article in the July 4 edition of the Lincoln Journal Star. One of those posts was entitled Is Ignorance Bliss? No. Ignorance is Ignorance. It addressed the problems inherent in our education system – people don’t know history anymore. For at least the past 50 years, our government run schools have encouraged students to fill their heads with facts they don’t retain, but don’t teach clear analytical thinking skills or core concepts and principles, especially about their own country.

This July 4 segment of Jay Leno’s “Jaywalking” illustrates multi-generational ignorance of American history.  Notice the age of the only person capable of answering Leno’s simple questions about our country’s history:
